On July 9th, 2011 my father Adrian Dessi threw out the first pitch to start a Yankee game. You can see Dad seated in this photo (LtoR Derek Jeter, Adrian Dessi, Mark Dessi, Chris Dessi, Pat Dessi). This fact is certainly significant. However, it gains further significance when you understand that on that same day, Yankee great Derek Jeter hit his 3,000th-career hit.

In 2006 I spoke in front of an audience for the first time, and I was horrible.
I was sweating.
I spoke too quickly.
I didn’t consider what my audience should get from my speech.
I only thought about how I would be perceived. Cringe.
