The past two weeks have been nothing short of magical. It all started with Hurricane Sandy, and culminated in the most pure and beautiful moment of my life, save the birth of my two children.

Chris DessiLately my direct messages have been reserved for messages from my Twitter followers who have incorrectly clicked on a link proclaiming things like “LMAO can’t believe ur in this facebook vid”…I know enough to never click on these links. These type of spammy messages are part of the social media territory, it’ also part of the reason why I don’t regularly check my direct messages. But yesterday I got a message that struck me. I received a direct message on Twitter from our very own President of the United States.

Chris DessiThe past two weeks have been unique. Last week I was in Syracuse, New York training a brilliant sales team at BlueRock Energy. The week before was spent hopping from borough to borough with the talented team at Vanguarde Consulting speaking with small business owners (save the Bronx due to a scheduling mix up).

Chris DessiBig things are happening. Next week I’m honored to host and present during Social Week’s special event called “Social Week Gives Back.” This special event will take place over the course of five days next week. It will be held in each of the five boroughs of New York City. Here’s the schedule – follow the links for registration details.

Chris DessiI’m blessed, really I am. I’m infinitely passionate about what I do for a living. I also love helping people. Despite some isolated incidents when I’ve felt that prospective clients have taken advantage of my good nature (which I’ve blogged about here), I love to share information that will help us all engage better via social media.

Chris DessiA few weeks ago I was lucky enough to appear on Inside Edition to discuss social media. Well – more specifically I was there to discuss the scandal associated with the newly revealed fact that Boo the Dog’s owner is a Facebook employee.

Chris DessiLast week I was honored to lecture to a group of MBA students at my Alma Mater Loyola University Maryland. I’m always thrilled when I have the chance to get back to Baltimore to help my fellow Greyhounds – but I get particular enjoyment when the people I speak with get it.

Chris DessiRecently I was at a family party chatting with my Uncle Joe. We were discussing the progress of my training to run in this years ING New York City Marathon. I’m running with the ALS Association to raise money for Joe’s baby brother, and my Father Adrian.

Chris DessiA few months ago while appearing on Good Day New York – the anchor, Greg Kellyturned to me and said (I’m paraphrasing) “Big Brother isn’t what we thought it would be, it’s YOU.”

Chris DessiLast Friday I appeared on Fox Business, Varney & Co. to discuss why social media stocks are tanking. During the segment which lasted just over four minutes we focused mainly on Facebook.
